Do you know a teacher who should be recognized for outstanding work in the area of literacy? If so, now is the time to give that person the recognition he/she deserves. Our council would like to recognize an exceptional teacher from the Shenandoah Valley at our winter meeting this year! Think about all of the excellent teachers who work in your school who are members of SVRC (the nominee must have been a member of SVRC last year as well as this year) and let us know who they are so we can honor the work that they do. You can find the application on the council’s website at www.svreading.org . The person chosen as our teacher of the year may then apply for the Ofie T. Rubin Award given by the Virginia State Reading Association.
